Thanks for posting in the Google Photos Support Community. I understand that you're unable to backup your photos and I'll be happy to help you. Maybe the photos weren't uploaded successfully at the first place to Google Photos (cloud) and also make sure you're logged in to Google Photos with the same Google Account that you used during the backup.

Now that the ability to sync photos between photos and drive has been taken away, what is the solution to keep automatically downloading all google photos content to a computer, so that photos taken with a mobile device and backed up to google fotos are automatically available locally on a computer?
How can I disconnect my photos storage with my gmail storage?
I don't need google photos because my photos and videos are backed up a different way. But, google photos still holds my media, and is completely full. Since all the google services are connected, it is not letting me receive emails in Gmail, or create new documents in Drive.
